How to find a Shopify store’s revenue

Shopify doesn't publish what a store sells, so unless the brand discloses it, every revenue number you'll find is an estimate. Here is how those estimates are built, how far to trust them, and which tools give you one.

The short answer

Check for a public disclosure first. For an estimate, the free Shopify revenue checker gives any tracked store’s annual revenue range in seconds with no sign-up; Undercart gives the full estimate with a confidence score and a “why this number” breakdown. Storeleads shows estimated sales across a much larger multi-platform database, and browser extensions like Koala Inspector show sales estimates one store at a time. Whatever you use, read the result as a range.

Do it yourself

Four ways to estimate a Shopify store's revenue

Every tool combines some version of these. Knowing what each one can and can't tell you is how you judge any estimate.

1. Look for a public disclosure first

Funding announcements, founder interviews, press coverage, acquisition news and (for public companies) filings are the only real numbers. When one exists, it beats any estimate — but check whether it covers the whole company or only the online store, since many brands also sell on Amazon, wholesale or in their own shops.

2. Traffic × conversion rate × order value

Estimate monthly visits from a traffic tool, multiply by a typical ecommerce conversion rate and the store's average order value. Simple, but each input is itself an estimate, and conversion rates vary several-fold between stores, so the result is a wide range at best.

3. Reviews as a proxy for orders

Only a small share of buyers leave a review, so a store's total review count (and how fast it grows) tracks its order volume. This works well for stores with a reviews app and a steady catalog; it fails on stores that hide or import reviews.

4. Catalog, ads and social reach

Product count and price, the number of ads a brand runs, and social following all correlate with size — but loosely. A large catalog or a big Instagram audience on its own can mislead badly, so treat these as supporting evidence, not as the number.

Undercart

Best for: A Shopify revenue estimate you can audit, plus an API/MCP

Undercart estimates revenue for 1M+ Shopify stores. The free revenue checker shows a range with no account; a full profile shows the estimate annual first, with a confidence score and a “why this number” breakdown, next to the store's ads on Meta, Google and TikTok, its marketing emails and discount codes, best sellers, discounts and product reviews. Shopify only.

Storeleads

Best for: Estimated sales across a multi-platform database

Storeleads includes estimated monthly and yearly sales (and estimated monthly app spend) on its 13.8M active stores across 413 platforms, alongside estimated visits, apps and contacts. CSV export and API access start on Pro at $250/month.

PPSPY

Best for: Recent order and sales trends for dropshipping research

PPSPY is built for dropshippers and product research: it predicts a store's orders and sales over the last 15 days, tracks a set number of stores and ads per plan (30 on Standard), detects apps and themes, and analyses traffic sources. Plans are $39, $99 and $299 a month.

Shophunter

Best for: Hourly sales tracking on a shortlist of stores

Shophunter tracks the Shopify stores you point it at and models their revenue, order volume and best sellers with hourly updates, plus historical sales trends and Facebook ad spying. Strong for watching a few competitors closely; its pricing isn't published on its site.

Koala Inspector

Best for: Free, one-store-at-a-time checks in the browser

Koala Inspector is a Chrome extension (200,000 users on the Chrome Web Store) that shows a store's apps, theme, best sellers, traffic and ads; its paid plan unlocks more detailed sales estimates. It works one store at a time, on a token budget.

What you get

What Undercart's revenue estimate gives you

Undercart tracks 1M+ Shopify stores. Start with the free Shopify revenue checker: enter a tracked store’s domain and it shows an estimated annual revenue range, its theme and its apps — no account needed.

Sign in and open the store for the full estimate: annual revenue first, then monthly, with a confidence score that tells you how far to lean on it and a “Why this number?” breakdown of what drove the figure. A free account covers 25 stores a month, and the same estimate is available through the REST API and MCP server.

The estimate sits next to the evidence you’d want to sanity-check it with: the ads the store runs on Meta, Google and TikTok, the marketing emails it sends and the discount codes inside them, its best sellers, discounts and product reviews, and its social following.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can you see how much a Shopify store makes?

Not directly. Shopify doesn't publish a store's sales, and nothing on the storefront (including /products.json) reveals orders or revenue. Unless the brand discloses its revenue, every figure you'll find — from any tool — is an estimate built from public signals such as traffic, reviews, catalog and ads.

What is the best free Shopify revenue estimator?

Undercart's Shopify revenue checker is free with no sign-up: enter a domain and it shows the store's estimated annual revenue range, its theme and its apps. A free Undercart account adds the exact estimate with its confidence score for 25 stores a month.

How accurate are Shopify revenue estimates?

Treat them as ranges. On a set of stores with known revenue, even the quick range Undercart shows before a full profile lands within 3x of the truth about three times in four; the full estimate on a store's profile goes further. Estimates are least reliable for very small stores and for brands that sell mostly through Amazon, wholesale or physical retail.

What does Undercart's revenue estimate show?

An annual figure first, then monthly, with a confidence score and a “why this number” breakdown of what drove it. The free revenue checker shows any tracked store's range with no account; signing in gives the full estimate, next to the store's ads, marketing emails, best sellers, discounts and product reviews. Like every tool's figure, it's an estimate, not reported sales.

Is Shopify revenue the same as a brand's total revenue?

No. Estimators measure the Shopify store — the brand's own website. A brand that also sells on Amazon, through retailers or in its own shops can have total revenue several times its Shopify sales, so compare an estimate to a disclosed company-wide figure with care.
