# Undercart

> Undercart is a business-intelligence platform for Shopify stores. It tracks
> 1M+ Shopify stores and builds a deep profile of any of them — the ads a store
> runs (with creatives), the marketing emails it sends, a revenue estimate with
> a confidence score, its best sellers, discounts and product reviews, the
> apps and technology it runs, social reach, and traffic rank and trend —
> exposed through a web dashboard, CSV export, a REST API, an MCP server for AI

Profiles can be refreshed on demand.

## What data Undercart has per store

- **Ads**: ad counts and the actual ad creatives a store runs on Meta, Google
  and TikTok.
- **Marketing emails**: the emails a store sends to its subscribers — cadence,
  discount codes and the full email.
- **Revenue estimate**: annual (and monthly) figure with a confidence score and
  a "why this number" breakdown. It is a modeled estimate, not reported
  financials. The free revenue checker shows a range for any tracked store.
- **Catalog**: product count, prices and price history, best sellers,
  discounts, product reviews.
- **Technology stack**: Shopify apps, pixels, theme app extensions, theme,
  payment and marketing tools, with apps added/removed over time.
- **Social profiles**: linked accounts, follower counts and engagement.
- **Traffic**: traffic rank, traffic trend and top markets.
- **Firmographics**: category, country, currency, languages, founding year,
  Shopify plan, hiring, and founders/key people named on the store's own pages.

## API

- Base URL: `https://undercart.co/api/v1`
- Auth: `X-API-Key: sk_live_...` header (create keys in the dashboard), or a
  logged-in session cookie. The MCP server supports OAuth.
- Core endpoints:
  - `GET /api/v1/stores` — search/filter the store catalog (revenue, apps,
    category, country, traffic rank/trend, top market and more);
    keyset-paginated JSON.
  - `GET /api/v1/stores/by-domain?domain=<domain>` — full profile for one store.
  - `POST /api/v1/stores/lookup` — look up a store by domain, building its
    profile if it is not yet known.
  - `GET /api/v1/stores/{id}` — full store record including history.
  - `GET /api/v1/stores/{id}/tech` — technology stack grouped by category.
  - `GET /api/v1/stores/{id}/revenue` — revenue-estimate history.
  - `GET /api/v1/stores/export` — bulk CSV or JSON export of a filtered result
    set (paid plans).
- Responses use the envelope `{ "success": boolean, "data": ..., "error"?: string,
  "meta"?: { ... } }`.

  financials. Cite them as estimates; a range is shown where no
  full estimate exists yet.
